Under the guidance of His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, the General Secretariat of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the provision of advanced and modern educational tools to its affiliated institutes for the blind, technologies being introduced in Iraq for the first time.
Mr. Amer Al-Shammari, Director of the Division for the Blind, stated to the official website that “the Division for the Blind, part of the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has begun equipping its institutes with state-of-the-art educational tools now entering Iraq for the first time.”
He added that “a delegation, including the institute’s director and accompanying members, traveled to China under the directive of His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, the Shrine’s legal custodian, to procure the latest educational technologies specifically designed for individuals with visual impairments.”
Al-Shammari explained that “the delegation examined various specialized tools and materials, particularly those not previously available in Iraq, and secured important equipment such as sensor canes, bell balls, a range of sensory devices, Braille boards, and educational materials for science and mathematics, as well as games and sports equipment.”
He further noted that “the Division has equipped all affiliated institutes located across seven Iraqi provinces, Karbala, Muthanna, Baghdad, Diyala, Babil, Dhi Qar, and Salah Al-Din, in addition to the secondary schools and kindergartens under their supervision.” He emphasized that “these new tools have already had a positive impact on students’ learning outcomes and their overall educational experience.”
The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to supporting institutes for the blind throughout Iraq. The newly introduced educational tools, made possible by the directives of His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, are expected to significantly enhance the quality of education and empower students through innovative and unique learning methods.
