The Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the amount of financial and logistical support allocated for the care and treatment of children with autism, aimed at ensuring the provision of free and subsidized therapeutic and rehabilitation services, under the direct guidance of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei.
Speaking to the official website, the head of the authority, Dr. Haider Hamza Al-Abadi, said that "the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through its Health and Medical Education Authority, allocated (9) billion Iraqi dinars to the Al-Sibtain Foundation for the Treatment of Autism and Developmental Disorders during the first half of the current year."
He explained that "this support comes under the direct guidance of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, to ensure the provision of free and subsidized therapeutic and rehabilitation services for affected children."
He added that "the Al-Sibtain Foundation is now the largest institution of its kind in the region in this field, managing and supervising (11) integrated autism disorder centers across several governorates, including two specialized academies for treatment and training in the holy city of Karbala and Basra."
The head of the authority further stated that "the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine's development plans have enabled one of these academies to obtain the highest international accreditation awarded to autism centers in the region, reflecting a major advancement in the use of the latest internationally recognized therapeutic and training programs and techniques."
The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through its Health and Medical Education Authority, continues to launch and support major strategic initiatives aimed at providing advanced medical services comparable to leading international centers, serving people from all Iraqi governorates.
