The Cooling Division of the Engineering Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the deployment of an integrated cooling system throughout the Holy Hussaini Shrine and its surrounding areas as part of the shrine's plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). The initiative aims to provide a comfortable environment for pilgrims and help mitigate high temperatures.
Speaking to the official website, Head of the Cooling Division in the Engineering Projects Department, Safaa Ali Hussein, said, "The Cooling Division of the Engineering Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has deployed an integrated cooling system throughout the Holy Hussaini Shrine and its surrounding areas as part of the plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), with the aim of providing a comfortable environment for pilgrims and addressing high temperatures."
He explained that "our plan is divided into two main components. The first focuses on cooling the indoor spaces within the Holy Hussaini Shrine and the sacred sanctuary through the installation of Full Fresh central air-conditioning systems with a cooling capacity of (9,650) tons."
He added that "the greatest challenge was cooling the outdoor areas, which experience extremely high concentrations of visitors. More than (4,200) industrial air coolers have been distributed and installed, along with (450) misting fans across the courtyards and surrounding roads, in addition to the installation of (35) modern fog cannons."
He continued, "The outdoor cooling systems contribute to reducing the surrounding ambient temperature by approximately (9) degrees Celsius, providing a more suitable environment for pilgrims during the pilgrimage ceremonies."
He affirmed that "all cooling systems and equipment in use were manufactured by Al-Warith Engineering Industries Factory, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, reflecting the shrine's reliance on national capabilities in implementing service and engineering projects."
The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues implementing its comprehensive Arbaeen plan by mobilizing its human, technical, and engineering resources to provide the highest level of services to pilgrims, ensuring that the pilgrimage rituals are performed in a safe and comfortable environment.
