The Central Library of Al-Zahraa University for Women, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), has earned one of the Iraqi Science Day Awards presented by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, after being ranked among the top university libraries in Iraq across both public and private institutions.
In a statement to the university’s official website, Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, said, “This achievement crowns years of institutional work aimed at advancing academic and library services,” emphasizing that “the library has become a leading knowledge hub that enhances the quality of education and research both within and beyond the university.”
She added, “Its growing academic presence is reinforced by providing advanced services aligned with international standards, supporting the university’s mission to elevate educational and academic excellence.”
For her part, Hanan Farouq Al-Saadi, Director of the Central Library, expressed pride in the accomplishment, noting that “the award reflects the continuous efforts of the academic and technical teams to meet global standards.”
She added, “This recognition strengthens the library’s standing within Iraq’s higher education system through ongoing digital transformation initiatives, infrastructure modernization, and the expansion of services offered to students and researchers both inside and outside the university.”
The Iraqi Science Day Award is one of the country’s most prestigious national academic honors, granted annually by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to recognize distinguished institutions and individuals in scientific research, academic publishing, and university development, affirming a national vision that promotes a culture of excellence and quality in Iraq’s higher education sector.
