The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in Karbala hosted a Turkish delegation representing various sects on October 14, 2025, as part of an initiative coordinated by the Imam Hussain Center in Istanbul, affiliated with the International Media Division of the Shrine’s Media Department, to strengthen bonds of love and loyalty toward the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them).
During the visit, the delegation met with senior officials of the Holy Shrine, where discussions centered on the pivotal role of the Ahlulbayt in preserving the identity of the Islamic nation and upholding values of faith and compassion.
Mohammed Sadiq Gilani, head of the Gilani Foundation in Turkey said, “We were honored to visit the holy shrines in Najaf and Karbala, in coordination with the Imam Hussain Center in Istanbul. This visit expresses our solidarity and deep affection for the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), a love firmly rooted in our hearts, praise be to God.”
He added, “The Noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and our esteemed scholars among the righteous predecessors emphasized that mere affection is not enough. As the scholar Al-Razi mentioned in his interpretation, true love requires support and solidarity with the Ahlulbayt while distancing oneself from those who wronged them. This is the essence of the Islamic nation’s message.”
Continuing, he said, “As Muslims, we all face the same Qibla, and love for the Ahlulbayt and their descendants is a duty upon us. They are the rightful inheritors of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the scholars are the heirs of the prophets, therefore, the Prophet’s family deserves our devotion and allegiance.”
He further explained, “Today, we are standing before our master, Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), the leader of the youth of Paradise. We came to visit his shrine, draw inspiration from his sacrifice, and reflect on the injustice and martyrdom he endured. We ask Almighty God to gather us among his followers and those who love him.”
Gilani concluded, “The Turkish delegation, composed of men and women, visited several holy sites, including the shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). The group also met with Sayyid Mohammed Bahr Al-Uloom, Deputy Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine, where discussions focused on the role of the Ahlulbayt in the Islamic nation. The delegation expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the Shrine’s efforts and the devotion of its servants, affirming that love for the Ahlulbayt unites all Muslims.”
