Imam Hussain Holy Shrine Hospital Launches Emergency Medical Plan for Arafah and Eid Al-Adha Pilgrimages

The administration of Safir Imam Hussain Surgical Hospital announced the launch of its medical and service plan for the Day of Arafah pilgrimage and the days of Eid Al-Adha, aimed at providing comprehensive healthcare services to the visitors of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and ensuring rapid response to emergency cases.

The hospital’s administrative director, engineer Abbas Abdul Ali, said in a statement to the official website that “the administration of Safir Imam Hussain Surgical Hospital launched its medical and service plan for the Day of Arafah pilgrimage and the days of Eid Al-Adha,” noting that “the medical plan was prepared under the directives of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, and included several key aspects to ensure rapid response to emergency cases and provide the best medical services to visitors.”

He added that “the first part of the plan focuses on hospital preparedness and medical evacuation, where four operating rooms inside Safir Imam Hussain Surgical Hospital were fully designated for emergency cases, in addition to allocating all hospital beds to serve visitors, alongside full mobilization of medical, nursing, and support staff.”

He continued that “the plan also included preparing the field hospital inside the courtyard of Lady Aqila Zainab, with a capacity of (50) beds, to serve as a main station for receiving medical evacuation cases coming from medical detachments and emergency centers spread throughout the Holy Hussaini Shrine.”

He explained that “the second part includes deploying emergency centers and medical detachments inside and outside the Holy Hussaini Shrine, where two emergency centers were designated, one for men and another for women, while medical detachments were distributed according to a studied plan to provide healthcare services and first aid directly.”

He pointed out that “the third part concerns ambulance movement and medical evacuation, as ambulances and small transport vehicles were allocated to facilitate the rapid transfer of emergency cases, in coordination with the Holy Karbala Health Directorate to ensure smooth movement during the pilgrimage.”

He stressed that “all medical detachments and emergency centers were supplied with the latest medical equipment and life-saving supplies, in addition to deploying mobile teams and paramedics throughout the areas surrounding the Holy Hussaini Shrine.”

He noted that “the plan is being managed under the supervision of doctors specialized in crowd medicine and mass pilgrimage events, along with trained nursing staff specifically prepared and equipped for this occasion.”

He further stated that “the intensive implementation of the medical plan will begin on the night of the Day of Arafah and continue throughout the pilgrimage days and Eid Al-Adha to ensure the best healthcare services for the visitors of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).”

Safir Imam Hussain Surgical Hospital continues to implement its medical and service plans during mass pilgrimage events by dedicating all its capabilities and staff to providing healthcare and treatment services to the visitors of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
