Iraqi Prime Minister Reaffirms Support for Holy Shrines

Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi received a delegation from Imam Hussain Holy Shrine headed by its Secretary-General, Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abayji, during which congratulations were extended on the formation of the government and the vote of confidence granted by the Council of Representatives.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Media Office, a copy of which was obtained by the official website, “Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi received a delegation from the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine headed by its Secretary-General, Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abayji, where congratulations were offered on the formation of the government and receiving the confidence of the Council of Representatives.”

The statement added that “the meeting included a review of the situation in Holy Karbala Governorate, as well as follow-up on plans and procedures related to the completion of service and development projects and the contribution of the holy shrine in this field.”

According to the statement, the Prime Minister affirmed “the government’s commitment to providing full support to the holy shrines in order to ensure the best services for visitors arriving from inside and outside Iraq, especially during mass pilgrimage events.”

The delegation also included the head of the Health and Medical Education Authority at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, and the head of the Public Relations Department, Abdulameer Taha Al-Mutouri.
