Imam Hussain Holy Shrine Hospital Successfully Removes Large Uterine Fibroids in Complex Surgery

Al-Sayyida Khadija Al-Kubra Women’s Hospital, affiliated with Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, announced the success of a surgical procedure to remove multiple large uterine fibroids from a patient suffering from severe and acute bleeding.

The hospital’s surgery specialist, Dr. Ahood Abbas, said in a statement to the official website that “Al-Sayyida Khadija Al-Kubra Women’s Hospital, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, succeeded in performing a surgery to remove multiple large uterine fibroids from a patient who was suffering from severe and acute bleeding.”

She explained that “the operation was carried out after completing all the necessary examinations and tests, which revealed the presence of fibroids inside the uterus. The masses were successfully removed during a surgical procedure that lasted two hours,” noting that “the patient’s health condition is stable and she is recovering.”

She added that “the success of the operation was achieved thanks to the efforts of the hospital staff and the efficiency of the medical and nursing teams inside the operating rooms, in addition to the modern equipment and technologies available at the hospital, which contributed to handling delicate surgical cases.”

These specialized operations come as part of the major expansion witnessed by the medical institutions affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine in the field of surgeries, particularly emergency cases, through the provision of the latest treatment technologies and the recruitment of specialized medical expertise.
