Breast Cancer Center at Imam Hussain Holy Shrine Reports Services Since 2023 Opening

The Breast Cancer Center affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the scope of medical services it has provided since its opening on 17 May 2023, as part of its efforts to deliver specialized care for breast cancer patients.

Dr. Haider Al-Tamimi, head of the center, said in a statement to the official website that “the Breast Cancer Center affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has received (8,500) visits since its opening on (17 May 2023).” He noted that “the center has performed (500) surgical procedures, including (200) operations specifically for breast cancer, carried out by specialized medical staff using modern techniques.”

He explained that “the center also provides early breast cancer detection services, where (400) cases have been diagnosed, and comprehensive treatment plans were developed for them according to approved medical protocols.”

He added that “the center’s services also include continuous follow-up for patients even after completing their treatment stages to ensure the stability of their health condition and achieve the best possible therapeutic outcomes.”

He pointed out that “the center is supervised by a team of specialized doctors and includes female staff members, in addition to being equipped with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.” He noted that “the center’s services are not limited to one governorate but extend to most Iraqi governorates, contributing to the provision of advanced medical care and reducing the need for patients to travel abroad for treatment.”

The Breast Cancer Center is one of the specialized centers affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, aiming to strengthen early detection programs and provide specialized treatment for breast cancer patients.
