The Strategic Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced continued progress on the Khatam Al-Anbiya Specialized Hospital for Cardiovascular Diseases in Karbala Province, noting that the overall completion rate has reached approximately (80%).
Project Director Engineer Maytham Al-Quraishi stated in a statement to the official website that “the Strategic Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues the implementation of the Khatam Al-Anbiya Specialized Hospital for Cardiovascular Diseases project in Karbala Province,” pointing out that “the pace of work has noticeably accelerated, with the completion rate reaching (80%).”
He explained that “the project is being carried out on a site covering (16,000) m², with a total built-up area of (35,000) m², in accordance with the latest international specifications and architectural standards adopted in the construction of major specialized hospitals, ensuring smooth movement, departmental integration, and enhanced efficiency in delivering medical services.”
He added that “the project consists of three main buildings, led by the primary structure rising (11) floors, with a capacity of (157) beds. It includes a surgical department featuring (7) advanced operating rooms, among them a Hybrid OR, considered one of the most advanced technologies adopted globally, in addition to (4) specialized cardiac catheterization labs.”
He noted that “the project also includes a logistics services building designated for parking (garage), consisting of (6) floors, aimed at organizing traffic flow and serving patients and medical staff, along with a dedicated services building housing mechanical and electrical systems, including transformers and generators, to ensure uninterrupted power supply around the clock.”
He confirmed that “the hospital has been equipped with integrated technological systems, including central HVAC systems compliant with health requirements, intelligent fire detection and suppression systems, public address systems, as well as modern elevators and escalators.”
He further indicated that “the hospital will be supplied with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment.”
The Khatam Al-Anbiya Specialized Hospital for Cardiovascular Diseases is one of the strategic healthcare projects implemented by the General Secretariat of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine as part of its vision to develop Iraq’s healthcare infrastructure. The project aims to provide advanced specialized medical services for patients with heart and vascular diseases in line with the latest international standards, contributing to reducing the need for treatment abroad.
