The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, affirmed that all cities and provinces of Iraq are dear to them, stressing that the goal is to ensure no patient is compelled to travel abroad for treatment. His remarks came during a speech at the unveiling ceremony of the surgical robot system and the mobile (PET Scan) device at the Warith International Cancer Institute, affiliated with the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine in Karbala.
The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority stated that “the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine currently has projects underway in Kirkuk Governorate, including a cancer hospital in addition to a general surgery hospital. Likewise, in Diwaniyah and Nasiriyah, hospitals for oncology and general surgery will be implemented.”
He clarified that “all cities and provinces of Iraq are dear to us, and our projects are not limited to Karbala Governorate alone.”
He added that “in the past, patients were forced to travel outside Iraq in search of treatment, but today most treatments are available, and our objective is that no patient should have to travel abroad for medical care.”
He emphasized that “the purpose of all our projects is to provide services to all citizens.”
