The Health Disaster Management Center, affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has announced the completion of all medical preparations for the observance of the Mid-Sha‘ban pilgrimage.
The medical official for the Sha‘ban pilgrimage, Dr. Osama Abdul Hassan, told the official website that “the Health Disaster Management Center, affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has completed all medical preparations for the observance of the Mid-Sha‘ban pilgrimage.”
He explained that “the center has developed an integrated plan dedicated to providing medical services to pilgrims. This includes the deployment of medical units and ambulance teams, as well as ambulances for patient transport, in addition to specialized ambulances, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the hospitals of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine.”
Dr. Abdul Hassan added that “the work was carried out in coordination with the relevant departments of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, with medical units deployed across (6) locations, including two sites inside the Husayni courtyard and (4) sites surrounding it.”
He continued by stating that “the number of participating medical staff reaches (250) individuals, including doctors, nurses, and volunteers, who will operate on two levels: emergency rescue and first aid, and specialized main units handling critical cases under the supervision of specialist physicians.”
He noted that “the center has deployed (12) stretcher teams operating inside and outside the courtyard, involving more than (150) men and women, including (26) specialized paramedics trained to handle emergency cases.”
He further pointed out that “the plan includes the participation of (200) personnel responsible for documentation and data entry, as well as more than (100) individuals providing logistical support.”
This plan comes as part of the efforts of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to provide comprehensive medical and health services to pilgrims arriving from within and outside Iraq to observe the Mid-Sha‘ban pilgrimage rituals in Karbala Governorate.
