As part of its vision to broaden scientific and academic collaboration with leading Iraqi universities, a delegation from the Continuing Education Center at Al-Zahraa University for Women, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, conducted an official visit to the University of Karbala.
The delegation was received by Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, President of the University of Karbala, along with Dr. Aysar Ashour Khalaf, Director of the university’s Continuing Education Center.
Dr. Maali Hashim Abu Al-Maali, Director of the Continuing Education Center at Al-Zahraa University for Women, said, “a delegation from our center, under my leadership, made an official visit to the University of Karbala.”
She explained that “the visit aimed to activate the memorandum of understanding previously signed between the two universities and translate its provisions into practical programs and joint projects. These efforts are designed to advance the work of continuing education centers and expand their training activities in line with labor market demands, thereby enhancing their role in serving society and meeting its evolving needs.”
She added that “we discussed mechanisms for exchanging academic and administrative expertise through joint workshops and training sessions, as well as launching specialized programs to raise the efficiency of staff across various fields. The discussions also focused on strengthening the culture of continuing education and establishing these centers as platforms for innovation, development, and capacity building.”
At the conclusion of the visit, both parties expressed their appreciation for the importance of the meeting and agreed on concrete steps to broaden cooperation. They affirmed their commitment to joint work in achieving shared goals and opening up to new initiatives that support the scientific and academic missions of both universities.
This collaboration represents an important step toward unifying efforts to advance continuing education, in line with modern trends in higher education. It also contributes to preparing graduates with advanced skills, enabling them to compete in dynamic job markets and meet the requirements of scientific and professional development.
