Fadak Palm Farm hosts the second cultural date festival

Fadak Palm Farm, affiliated with the Agricultural Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, in cooperation with the University of Karbala / College of Pure Sciences, organized the second Cultural Palm and Dates Festival at the university campus, with wide participation from faculty members and students.

Fayez Abu Al-Maali, Director of the farm, told the official website that “Fadak Palm Farm, under the Agricultural Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, and in cooperation with the University of Karbala (College of Pure Sciences), held the second Cultural Palm and Dates Festival within the university premises, with participation from professors and students.”

He explained that “the festival was held to highlight the farm’s experience in reviving desert lands and transforming them into productive green oases.”

He noted that “another objective of the participation was to demonstrate the farm’s role in providing employment opportunities, improving the environment, and serving as an important economic resource.”

It is worth noting that the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has, for years, been implementing a strategic plan aimed at supporting the national food basket, supplying the market with animal and plant products, reducing imports, and contributing to food security through its agricultural projects, including Fadak Palm Farm.
