Fadak Palm Farm, affiliated with the Agricultural Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, participated in the Agriculture and Food Industries Exhibition held at the Sulaymaniyah International Fairgrounds.
Mohammed Abu Al-Maali, the farm’s marketing officer, told the official website that “Fadak Palm Farm, under the Agricultural Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, took part in the Agriculture and Food Industries Exhibition in Sulaymaniyah, which runs from December 17 to 20.”
He added that “the farm’s pavilion displayed 50 varieties out of the 100 types of dates owned by the farm, including Iraqi and Arab varieties. The farm also plays a role as a genetic bank for producing rare and high-quality varieties, in addition to being a distinguished national project.”
He explained that “the response from attendees was impressive, as we presented the early stages of the farm’s work when the land was a barren desert, up to its current state as a green oasis containing rare and outstanding date varieties.”
He noted that “among the most prominent and finest Iraqi varieties at the farm are Al-Breim, Al-Barhi, Al-Wasiti, Al-Qarnafli, Mirhaj, Al-Shuwaithi, Al-Balka, Al-Ashras, Al-Khadrawi, Al-Tabarzal, Al-Jaafari, Al-Maktoum, Al-Barban, Al-Matouq, and others. The leading Arab varieties include Al-Majhool, Al-Zamli, Al-Suqai, Al-Khalas, and others.”
It is worth noting that Fadak Palm Farm, affiliated with the Agricultural Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has entered the marketing phase for its own production of dates and offshoots. The farm continues to seek further development and increased output through the use of modern agricultural technologies and techniques.
