The Warith International Cancer Institute, affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority at Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, continues to deliver early and free screening services for women. These efforts aim to enhance prevention and early detection of breast and cervical cancer as part of its health and awareness programs.
In a statement obtained by the Official Website, the foundation stated that the Warith International Cancer Institute, affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority at Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, is continuing its provision of free early screening services for women to boost prevention and early diagnosis of breast and cervical cancer through its healthcare initiatives.
The statement clarified that early breast cancer detection services include specialist consultations, mammogram screenings (breast X-rays), and breast ultrasound scans. These services are provided for women aged 40 and older, as well as those aged 35 if risk factors are present. Younger age groups can also benefit from screenings upon exhibiting specific symptoms, based on the evaluation of a specialist doctor.
It added that early cervical cancer detection services include specialist consultations, Pap smears, and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) testing for cases determined by the treating physician, targeting married women within the 25 to 65 age group.
The foundation encourages women to take advantage of these services and undergo timely examinations, emphasizing that early detection significantly increases treatment and recovery success rates—reaching up to 99% in certain cases when the disease is discovered at an early stage.
