Imam Hussain Shrine Secretary-General: Ensuring Decent Housing for Employees Is a Core Priority

During a ceremony held to distribute residential land plots to employees in recognition of their service, the Secretary-General of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abayechi, emphasized that the Shrine’s leadership acts as a spiritual and paternal guide before being an administrative authority. The event was attended by members of the Board of Directors and department heads.

Al-Abayechi stated that “in recent years, the Holy Shrine has witnessed significant progress through the blessings of its legitimate leadership, represented by the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority and the legal guardian of the Holy Shrine, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaei. Today, the Shrine has become a respected and widely recognized institution across the region for its service to religion, society, and sacred sites.”

He noted that “the fruits of this spiritual leadership are evident in this dedicated group of employees who have distinguished themselves through their commitment to prayer, recitation of the Holy Quran, and defending the divine message carried by Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) during the Ashura uprising.”

Al-Abayechi added that “reaching this stage of entitlement is the result of years of service at the Holy Shrine, in addition to adherence to moral conduct, enjoining good and forbidding wrongdoing, criteria that the Shrine considers fundamental when evaluating its staff.”

He confirmed that “the Shrine oversees many religious, spiritual, and cultural projects both inside Iraq and abroad, and that this land distribution will soon be followed by the allocation of housing units according to approved regulations.” He stressed that “providing dignified housing for employees is one of the administration’s top priorities to ensure their stability and that of their families.”

He also pointed out that “the Holy Shrine has not forgotten retired or deceased employees who served in this sacred institution, as land plots have been allocated for them as well in appreciation of their noble service.”
