The Hall of Khatim al-Anbiya (peace be upon him and his family) at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine hosted on Saturday morning the opening of the Third National Academic Quranic Forum for professors of Iraqi universities and institutes, held as part of the National Quranic Project in higher education.
The event was attended by the Shrine’s legal custodian, its secretary-general, along with a distinguished group of religious and academic figures, and a wide gathering of professors from universities and institutes across Iraq.
The head of the Shrine’s Quran House explained that the forum aims to strengthen Quranic studies and academic research within universities, foster faith-based values, and create a balanced environment that integrates academic sciences with the spiritual essence of the Quran.
He noted that the forum also seeks to expand avenues of cooperation and synergy between Iraqi universities and specialized Quranic centers, contributing to the development of curricula and student activities related to Quranic studies.
The forum’s program featured research and discussion sessions presented by professors and scholars specializing in Quranic sciences, Quranic interpretation, language and social studies. The sessions highlighted ideas and perspectives intended to enhance the role of Quranic scholarship within universities, as well as strategies to integrate Quranic research into academic projects.
This forum continues a series of Quranic initiatives regularly organized by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, reaffirming its pioneering role in supporting Quranic knowledge and reinforcing Islamic identity within educational and academic settings.
