The Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) Pilgrim City, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and located on the Karbala–Babil highway, has announced statistical figures for its services provided to visitors during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, encompassing catering, accommodation, medical care, and auxiliary support.
The Assistant Director of the Pilgrim City, Wael Hamza, stated in an official release obtained by the shrine's official website that "the city accommodated 45,480 male and female visitors across its overnight staying facilities, alongside serving 321,010 meals—distributed as 55,680 breakfasts, 196,555 lunches, and 68,775 dinners—in addition to supplying purified drinking water via reverse osmosis (R.O.) filtration plants operating round-the-clock."
He clarified that "the medical centers within the city delivered healthcare services to 24,869 patients, conducted 3,260 laboratory tests, and deployed 15 ambulances to respond to emergency cases." He noted that "healthcare delivery involved 48 personnel from the Karbala Health Directorate, 74 members from the Basra Medical Team, and 108 staff members from the Iraqi Red Crescent Society, working alongside 23 administrative and service personnel."
He added that "the city provided a range of auxiliary support services for pilgrims, including managing missing persons centers, communication stations, and baggage storage, as well as cobbler services, tailoring, and laundry. Furthermore, public restrooms and rest areas were prepared and equipped with shading canopies and cooling systems."
These statistics reflect the scope of service efforts mounted by the Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) Pilgrim City during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, integrated alongside religious, cultural, and educational initiatives organized by the departments of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to maintain a comprehensive environment serving the pilgrims of the Master of Martyrs (peace be upon him).
