Under the directives of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues its humanitarian programs aimed at supporting the families of martyrs. In this context, the Department for the Care of Martyrs’ and Wounded Families has launched its annual “Eid Clothing” program, in conjunction with the approaching Eid Al-Fitr, with the aim of bringing joy and happiness to orphans and the children of martyrs.
Emad Al-Jashami, Media Officer of the department, said in a statement to the official website that “the Department for the Care of Martyrs’ and Wounded Families has begun implementing the annual ‘Eid Clothing’ program, coinciding with the approach of Eid Al-Fitr, with the goal of bringing joy to the hearts of orphans and the children of martyrs.”
He explained that “the program was launched in Karbala Governorate with the participation of around (200) orphans, as part of a comprehensive humanitarian plan aimed at bringing happiness to this valued group.”
He added that “the department adopted a ‘direct shopping’ approach, where children are taken to shopping centers to choose their own clothing based on their preferences and needs, in a step designed to enhance their self-confidence and provide them with a sense of dignity and pride.”
He continued that “the program is not limited to financial support alone, but seeks to offer a complete experience for the children, reflecting care for their psychological and emotional well-being and providing them with a joyful atmosphere befitting the sacrifices of their fathers.”
He noted that “the department’s plan includes expanding the program to cover several southern governorates, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to more than (1000) orphans across (5) governorates,” stressing that “this initiative comes as part of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s commitment to its humanitarian and social responsibility toward the families of martyrs.”
Through its various programs, the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues to reinforce its humanitarian approach by moving beyond traditional support toward comprehensive care that addresses psychological and social aspects, remaining a supportive haven for orphans and a safe refuge that instills hope and brings them the joy of Eid they deserve.
