The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through its Department of Care for the Families of Martyrs and Wounded, has renovated the home of a financially struggling family in Baghdad, fulfilling their long-held dream of securing a dignified place to live. The project was completed with the efforts of the department’s staff and contributions from charitable donors.
The department’s media official, Imad Al-Jashaami, stated that the family of the late Diaa Shmakhi had appealed to the department, explaining that after losing their sole provider, they were living in a deteriorated house lacking the most basic necessities, including household appliances, furniture, and essential services.
“After obtaining the necessary official approvals, our teams immediately began renovation and rehabilitation work,” Al-Jashaami said.
He added that the project was carried out with the support and contributions of donors and philanthropists. The work was completed in record time, and the house was handed back to the family fully renovated and equipped with furniture, appliances, and furnishings.
He concluded by noting that a handover ceremony was held in the presence of a delegation from the Holy Shrine representing the Department of Martyrs and Wounded Care. The delegation inspected the renovated home and emphasized the Shrine’s continued support for needy families through its ongoing humanitarian programs.
