The Strategic Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced significant construction progress in the CyberKnife radiotherapy center project, which is being implemented under the Warith International Cancer Institute affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine. The development reflects continued work in accordance with the highest international engineering and medical standards.
The head of the department, Engineer Mohammed Diaa Mohammed, said in a statement to the official website that “the engineering and technical teams of the Strategic Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine are continuing their work at an accelerated pace to complete the CyberKnife radiotherapy center project, which is being implemented under the Warith International Cancer Institute affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority, within the specified timelines and with full adherence to the quality and precision standards required for specialized medical projects.”
He added that “the project has witnessed a significant engineering milestone represented by the pouring of the roof of the support building within the Bunkers area. This stage is considered one of the pivotal and sensitive construction phases due to the complex technical requirements related to radiation protection and safety standards in advanced radiotherapy facilities.”
He explained that “this phase marks an important step forward in the project’s execution, as it requires precise construction solutions and specialized designs to ensure the highest levels of safety and operational efficiency, particularly with regard to the protective infrastructure for high-precision medical equipment.”
He noted that “the achieved progress reflects the department’s commitment to implementing the project according to an integrated engineering vision that takes into account the finest technical details, contributing to the preparation of an advanced treatment environment that supports the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s efforts to provide advanced healthcare services to citizens.”
This achievement comes as part of a series of advanced stages in the project, which is regarded as a specialized medical initiative aimed at introducing the latest non-surgical radiotherapy technologies, thereby strengthening the specialized healthcare system and expanding the range of services available within Iraq in line with the latest global practices.
