The Expansion Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the date for commencing construction of a new minaret as part of the wall of the major expansion project surrounding the Holy Husayni Courtyard.
The head of the department, Engineer Hussein Redha Mahdi, stated that “the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine will begin in the coming period the construction of a new minaret within the wall of the major expansion project surrounding the Holy Husayni Courtyard.”
He explained that “the minaret will stand at a height of (80) meters and will serve as a landmark for pilgrims arriving to visit the shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).”
He added that “the minaret will be built in accordance with Islamic architectural designs, closely aligned with the design of the Holy Husayni Courtyard.”
This step is part of a series of urban and service expansion projects being implemented by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to develop the Holy Courtyard and facilitate the movement of pilgrims. The new minaret is intended to serve as a clear and prominent landmark for visitors.
