Imam Hussain Holy Shrine Implements Advanced Crowd Management Plan for Mid-Sha‘ban

The Department of Care and Protection of the Outer Courtyard and Its Entrances at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the start of implementing its dedicated plan to organize the movement of pilgrims arriving in the center of the holy city of Karbala, as part of service and security preparations for the Mid-Sha‘ban pilgrimage.

The head of the department, Professor Mohammed Al-Fatlawi, told the official website that “the Department of Care and Protection of the Outer Courtyard and Its Entrances at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has begun implementing its plan to regulate the movement of pilgrims arriving in the center of the holy city of Karbala, within the framework of service and security preparations for the Mid-Sha‘ban pilgrimage.”

He added that “the plan was developed based on an integrated organizational vision aimed at ensuring smooth pedestrian flow and providing the highest levels of comfort and safety, particularly in areas surrounding the Husayni courtyard and the main entrances leading to the shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).”

He explained that “the plan includes the application of modern organizational mechanisms to distribute pedestrian routes, in addition to regulating the movement of service and security vehicles within the city center, contributing to a reduction in traffic congestion.”

He noted that “the department’s staff have begun field operations in coordination with the relevant service and security authorities to ensure the plan is implemented efficiently and that the best possible services are provided to pilgrims,” pointing out that “the plan covers all entrances leading to the holy shrine and the surrounding areas.”

Through its various departments, the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues to implement preemptive field programs that include organizing pedestrian and vehicle movement, securing the main entrances to the holy shrine, and coordinating with relevant security and service agencies, with the aim of providing a safe and well-organized environment that reflects the significance of the religious occasion and accommodates the increasing number of pilgrims each year.
