The Holy Imam Hussain Shrine has announced the total amounts disbursed by the Department for the Care of the Families of Martyrs and the Wounded during 2025, as part of its humanitarian and social programs aimed at supporting this segment and providing care across various living and health-related aspects.
The head of the department, Mr. Mohammed Rasool, stated in an interview with the official website that “the total amount spent by the Holy Imam Hussain Shrine through the Department for the Care of the Families of Martyrs and the Wounded during 2025 amounted to 646,611,000 Iraqi dinars, covering 2,666 cases. These expenditures were distributed across several service and humanitarian areas to support this deserving group.”
He explained that “the areas of expenditure included financial grants for the families of martyrs and the deceased, the provision of financial and medical assistance, food baskets, Eid clothing, and school clothing, in addition to the payment of salaries for the martyrs of the Azza (Tuwairij Run).”
He continued, “The support also included donations covering medical treatment, construction, the provision of in-kind materials, and the equipping of orphans, as well as assistance for cases referred by the Office of the Legal Custodian of the Holy Imam Hussain Shrine. This was accompanied by the provision of household appliances and in-kind materials through the Imam Al-Ridha Foundation, the payment of salaries for various martyrs and deceased individuals, and financial grants for the victims of the Hyper Market fire in the city of Kut.”
He affirmed that “these efforts come within the framework of the Imam Hussain Shrine’s ongoing humanitarian approach to caring for the families of martyrs and the wounded and alleviating their living burdens, reflecting its ethical and social commitment toward this segment that has made great sacrifices.”
The Holy Imam Hussain Shrine emphasized that the continuation of these programs aligns with its humanitarian and social vision to care for the families of martyrs and the wounded and to reinforce the principle of social solidarity, contributing to the provision of sustainable support for them and embodying its enduring commitment to serving humanity and safeguarding human dignity under all circumstances.
