As part of its ongoing scientific presence, the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced that several physicians from the Nuclear Medicine Department at Al-Warith International Cancer Treatment Center participated in the Asian & Oceanian Congress of Nuclear Medicine and Biology, held in Chennai, India, with representatives from more than 20 countries around the world.
According to a statement received by the official website, “a number of doctors from the Nuclear Medicine Department at Al-Warith International Cancer Treatment Center, which is affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, took part in the Asian & Oceanian Congress of Nuclear Medicine and Biology in Chennai, India, with participation from over 20 countries worldwide.”
The statement clarified that “the center was represented in this scientific forum by Dr. Farah Mohammed Anwar, Nuclear Medicine Specialist, and Dr. Aysar Najih Al-Fatlawi, Head of the Nuclear Medicine Department, both serving within the International Faculty. They played active roles in several scientific sessions as speakers, moderators, and chairpersons, reflecting the advanced scientific standing achieved by the center’s staff.”
It added that “Dr. Farah Mohammed Anwar delivered a scientific lecture highlighting the development of nuclear medicine in Iraq and the role of Al-Warith Center in introducing Lutetium treatment inside the country for the first time, enabling patients to receive this advanced therapy without needing to travel abroad.”
The statement continued, “Dr. Aysar Naji Al-Fatlawi also presented a lecture on the evolution of nuclear medicine at both global and national levels, showcasing the Nuclear Medicine Department’s experience at Al-Warith Center and how modern technologies are being employed to serve cancer patients in accordance with the latest international standards.”
The participation of Al-Warith International Cancer Treatment Center’s medical staff aligns with the Health and Medical Education Authority’s comprehensive strategy to elevate the level of medical services provided to patients, especially in the field of cancer diagnosis and treatment, through adopting advanced technologies and international-standard therapies, and strengthening the position of Iraqi medical institutions regionally and globally.
