The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through the Exhibitions Division of its Media Department, has joined the inaugural Zakho International Book Fair, hosted at the University of Zakho in the Kurdistan Region.
Ali Mamitha, head of the division, stated, “The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, represented by its Exhibitions Division of the Media Department, is participating in the first Zakho International Book Fair, organized by the University of Zakho in cooperation with the Kurdistan Regional Government. The fair runs from November 30 to December 6 at the University of Zakho.” He added that “the fair features more than 20,000 titles and includes the participation of 50 publishing houses from 10 countries.”
He clarified that “taking part in this exhibition is part of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain’s ongoing engagement in local and international book fairs, aimed at encouraging a culture of reading and presenting the shrine’s most notable intellectual and cultural works across different fields.” He also pointed out that “the Holy Shrine’s pavilion stood out for offering more than 350 publications designed for a wide range of readers.”
It is worth noting that the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain has taken part in many previous editions of the Baghdad International Book Fair, along with several other exhibitions and festivals both inside Iraq and abroad, underscoring its continued dedication to spreading knowledge, culture, and creativity in various disciplines.
