Al-Hadi Center Launches First Comprehensive Clinic for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Patients

The Al-Hadi Center for Neuromuscular Disorders, part of the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has launched the first specialized clinic dedicated to Duchenne muscular dystrophy, providing patients with comprehensive, integrated medical follow-up.

Dr. Saleh Al-Jabri, Director of the Al-Hadi Center, stated that “the clinic includes an assessment of muscle strength, identification of the disease stage, and evaluation of respiratory function and cardiac muscle performance.” He noted that the program also covers psychological support, nutritional evaluation, and joint examinations to prevent future stiffness.

He added that “the physical therapy team offered guidance to help patients maintain flexibility and reduce contractures, while the medical team reviewed treatment plans, discussed potential medication complications, and outlined preventive measures.”
