First Qalam Cultural Forum Launches as Part of 7th Karbala International Children’s Book Fair

As part of the 7th Karbala International Children’s Book Fair, the inaugural Qalam Cultural Forum was launched at the Hall of Khatim al-Anbiya (peace be upon him and his family) within the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine. The forum featured a special lecture titled “Evaluating Media Institutions Working in the Field of Children’s Media,” delivered by Professor Mohammed Al-Hasnawi.

In his remarks, Al-Hasnawi explained that the lecture addressed the current state of media institutions targeting children and their role in shaping awareness and fostering educational and cultural values.

He added that the session also discussed the challenges facing this sector and explored ways to develop it in line with contemporary changes, ensuring it meets the needs of Iraqi and Arab children.

The forum is part of a series of cultural activities held alongside the exhibition, aiming to strengthen focus on children, build an educational and media environment that refines their character, and nurture their talents. It reflects a commitment to supporting the younger generation by providing knowledge and creative tools that help enhance their capabilities.
