Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority Inspects Ongoing Construction of Khatam Al-Anbiya Hospital in Karbala

As part of continuous field follow-up on strategic projects undertaken by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, visited the Khatam Al-Anbiya (peace be upon him and his family) Cardiac and Vascular Diseases Hospital in Karbala to review progress rates and the stages of ongoing work.

Mohammed Dhia Mohammed, head of the Strategic Projects Department at the shrine, told the official website that “Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, visited the Khatam Al-Anbiya Hospital for Cardiac and Vascular Diseases in Karbala to examine the completion levels and current phases of the project.”

He explained that “the visit is part of the regular approach of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority to follow up on major projects. During his tour of the facility, he directed engineering teams to adhere to the highest international standards and to accelerate work in order to enhance the level of healthcare services in Iraq.”

He added that “the hospital is being built on an area of 16,000 m², with a total construction space of 35,600 m². It consists of a main building with 11 floors and a capacity of 157 beds, in addition to seven modern operating theaters, including one hybrid operating room, as well as four catheterization suites.” He noted that “the project also includes a six-story parking facility and a service building for transformers and electrical generators.”

He pointed out that “the hospital is considered one of the most significant healthcare projects, designed and executed according to the latest international standards, and will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical devices and advanced equipment. Work is progressing at a rapid pace, achieving advanced completion rates.”

This project is part of a series of health and service initiatives launched by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, reflecting its humanitarian mission and pioneering role in supporting the healthcare sector and developing its infrastructure, with the goal of providing the best possible services to the community.
