The General Secretariat of the Al-Askariyain Holy Shrine has announced the rollout of a comprehensive security and service plan to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan Al-Askari (peace be upon him). The measures are designed to ensure the safety, comfort, and smooth flow of pilgrims traveling to Samarra for the occasion.
Qaisar Al-Dujaili, a member of the shrine’s Board of Directors, confirmed that a detailed plan has been adopted to manage the large influx of pilgrims. The preparations include logistical support for processions, with dozens of tons of food and thousands of boxes of bottled water distributed. Medical teams, reinforced by specialized volunteers, have been deployed, while fire extinguishers have been placed along processional routes and the streets leading to the shrine.
On the security side, Al-Dujaili highlighted close coordination with the armed forces and local security services in Samarra. Among the measures is the provision of a large parking facility capable of accommodating thousands of vehicles.
He also noted the establishment of a dedicated media center, operating 24/7 in cooperation with relevant ministries and agencies, to facilitate both local and international media coverage of the event.
