Imam Zain Al-Abideen Hospital (peace be upon him), operating under the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has announced the results of its free medical campaign, Ataa Al-Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him), conducted from the 7th to the 20th of Safar. The initiative provided extensive healthcare services to Arbaeen pilgrims and local residents, marking a significant humanitarian achievement.
Mustafa Al-Mousawi, Media Director of the hospital, confirmed that the two-week initiative produced notable results in terms of medical services, reflecting the shrine’s ongoing commitment to supporting both pilgrims and the wider community.
The value of the free healthcare provided amounted to 250 million Iraqi dinars, approximately 175,000 US dollars, fully funded by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine.
According to Al-Mousawi, the campaign served more than 19,000 patients. Services included over 20,000 laboratory tests, 3,145 radiological examinations, 60 gastrointestinal endoscopies, and 110 successful childbirths.
He noted that these accomplishments were made possible by the dedication of the hospital’s medical, nursing, and technical teams, who worked tirelessly around the clock. Their efforts were reinforced by advanced equipment and technologies, ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical care at no cost.
Al-Mousawi emphasized that the initiative reflects the true meaning of Hussaini generosity and stands as a lasting symbol of the humanitarian care offered by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine.
Ataa Al-Imam Al-Hassan, translated as “The Giving of Imam Hassan” (peace be upon him), embodies the shrine’s mission of integrating modern medicine with the spirit of service inspired by the values of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), offering a compassionate model of healthcare for both pilgrims and the local community
