An international exhibition of AI-generated illustrations has been inaugurated at the Imam Redha Holy Shrine in Mashhad, highlighting religious and cultural themes during the final days of the month of Safar.
Organized by the West Asia Division of the Office for Non-Iranian Pilgrims’ Affairs, the exhibition presents selected works from the first international event on “AI-Powered Illustration Art.” The showcase coincides with the last ten days of Safar, the second month of the Islamic lunar calendar, a period of profound religious significance for Shia Muslims.
Held in cooperation with Hodhod Media Agency, the initiative explores innovative approaches to conveying the teachings of Imam Redha (peace be upon him) through emerging technologies. Artists from Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon contributed works designed to encourage dialogue through digital creativity.
The collection includes diverse themes such as portrayals of Lady Masouma (peace be upon her), the life and legacy of Imam Redha (peace be upon him), acts of charity, Islamic shrine architecture, and tributes to pilgrims.
Organizers noted that the event received hundreds of submissions from countries including India, Pakistan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Iran. Following a detailed technical and thematic evaluation, 147 pieces were chosen for public exhibition.
The selected artworks have been printed and installed at the entrance of the Dar Al-Rahmah Portico, offering visitors a distinctive blend of spiritual heritage and technological innovation.
Situated in northeastern Iran, the Imam Redha Holy Shrine is one of the most revered pilgrimage destinations in Shia Islam. Millions of pilgrims are expected to visit the site this weekend to mark the martyrdom anniversary of the Imam.
