The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced that more than 4.1 million foreign pilgrims from 140 countries participated in this year’s Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
Ministry spokesperson Colonel Abbas Al-Bahadli confirmed the figures, emphasizing the immense scale and international scope of the event.
He noted that the number reflects the wide range of nationalities represented, reaffirming the global character of this annual religious gathering hosted by the holy city of Karbala.
The Arbaeen pilgrimage remains one of the world’s largest peaceful human gatherings, drawing millions from across the globe in a collective expression of devotion, mourning, and solidarity with the message of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
