Sayyed Al-Awsiya Pilgrims City, situated along the Karbala–Baghdad road and affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), is making extensive preparations to welcome pilgrims from across the globe for the Arbaeen pilgrimage. The city has already started receiving visitors from various Iraqi governorates.
Sayyed Ali Al-Hussaini, Media Director of the Pilgrims City, said, “We are fully prepared to receive the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.” He explained that preparations are being carried out in several areas, especially within the service sector. “We have set up 22 halls across two floors, each furnished with all necessary amenities to ensure the comfort of the honorable pilgrims,” he added.
The city’s restaurant will serve three daily meals, both within the complex and in external areas, as part of a large-scale hospitality effort. On the medical side, a fully equipped healthcare center has been established in cooperation with the Baghdad/Rusafa Health Directorate. In addition, two medical points, one inside the city and another at its outer perimeter, have been set up to provide services to pilgrims.
Al-Hussaini also emphasized the city’s cultural programs, stating, “In collaboration with the Al-Qabas Foundation for Culture and Development and several departments of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, we have launched multiple cultural centers aimed at educating, inspiring, and spiritually enriching pilgrims before they proceed to the shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).”
