Doctors at present 24/7 for Arba'een pilgrims

Fatigued, and sometimes have back and foot spasms is how Arba’een pilgrims may arrive in the holy city of Kerbela due to walking for hundreds of miles. Walking to Kerbela every single year is a tradition; pilgrims walk just like Lady Zaineb, sister of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Them), who had walked with Imam Ali Es-Sejjad and the rest of her family for hundreds of miles until they reached the grave of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) after Et-Taf battle.

For those pilgrims a great number of volunteers are waiting to offer them anything that could help them feel better after their long walk. Some people offer pilgrims food and water, others accommodate them, but Weleed Khalid, massagist, chose to use his profession to ease the pilgrim’s burden of walking.

Khalid, with a group of his colleagues, volunteered this year to make pilgrims feel less tired and well taken care of; he would stand outside of his cabinet asking people if they needed massage; if he found someone, he would take him inside the cabinet to apply all the medical massage techniques to him.

“Not only do we give pilgrims massage, but we also have medicine for those who have chronic diseases, and all types of medicine are given for free,” added Khalid.
