The Health and Medical Education Authority affiliated with Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced its statistics for April 2026 regarding the number of children benefiting from treatment services provided within its institutions, reaffirming its continued humanitarian efforts to support sick children from various Iraqi governorates.
In a statement obtained by the official website, the authority said that “the Health and Medical Education Authority affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through Warith International Cancer Institute, Al-Thaqalayn Oncology Hospital, and Al-Mujtaba Hospital for Blood Diseases and Bone Marrow Transplantation, provided free services to (1006) children during April 2026,” noting that “approximately (34,255) medical and laboratory examinations were conducted during the same period, in addition to providing (5,042) radiation and chemotherapy sessions.”
The statement explained that “these services come within an integrated medical system aimed at enhancing free specialized care for children.”
It added that “contributions from donors through the Warith Fund helped cover the treatment of children coming from (17) Iraqi cities, distributed as follows: Salah Al-Din (22), Najaf Al-Ashraf (54), Kirkuk (10), Baghdad (190), Duhok (1), Basra (75), Babil (145), Holy Karbala (190), Maysan (16), Anbar (37), Dhi Qar (74), Wasit (33), Erbil (2), Al-Qadisiyah (79), Nineveh (22), Al-Muthanna (37), and Diyala (19).”
The statement stressed that “the Warith Fund continues its humanitarian efforts based on the principle that community contribution represents a way of life and continuous giving, embodying the values of solidarity and humanitarian cooperation in supporting sick children.”
The statement called on “those wishing to contribute to support treatment programs through the available donation methods, including Zain Cash and SuperQi, or through the official website,” noting that communication and inquiries can be made through the number (7374).
The Health and Medical Education Authority at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine reaffirmed its commitment to continuing medical care for sick children, noting that community support directly contributes to sustaining the therapeutic and humanitarian services provided to them, in addition to the support offered by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine.
