Basra Autism Academy Gains Arab Board Accreditation

Al-Thaqalain Academy for Autism and Developmental Disorders in Basra, affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has announced its official accreditation by the Arab Board of Medical Specializations as a certified training and treatment center.

Specialist in psychiatric and neurological disorders, Dr. Murtadha Ali, said in a statement to the official website that “Al-Thaqalain Academy for Autism and Developmental Disorders in Basra, affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has been officially accredited by the Arab Board of Medical Specializations as a certified training and treatment center, marking a qualitative step that enhances its status as a leading scientific and medical institution in Iraq.”

He explained that “this achievement was the result of sustained and systematic efforts, with a strong focus on providing a comprehensive training environment in line with the latest international standards, which contributed to the academy’s recognition as an accredited training and treatment center by the Arab Board of Medical Specializations.”

He added that “the academy is continuing to expand its therapeutic and rehabilitation services, while also strengthening scientific partnerships with reputable medical institutions, in a way that positively reflects on the level of healthcare provided and enhances Iraq’s position in this vital field.”

This achievement aligns with the vision of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to advance the field of psychiatric and neurological medicine in Iraq through Al-Thaqalain Academy, by delivering advanced healthcare that meets international standards, as well as preparing specialized medical professionals capable of meeting community needs and providing the highest level of healthcare services to citizens.
