Deputy Foreign Minister: JCI Accreditation of Warith Reflects a Humanitarian Medical Vision

Ambassador Dr. Hisham Al-Alawi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Planning Affairs, affirmed that the Warith International Cancer Institution attainment of international accreditation (JCI) embodies the vision of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine in establishing medicine as a noble humanitarian mission, centered on serving humanity first and combining the latest advances in medical science with ethical and humanitarian values.

This came during his speech at the ceremony marking the Warith International Cancer Institution, affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, receiving international accreditation (JCI). He stated that “the Warith International Cancer Institution attainment of international accreditation (JCI) reflects the vision of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine in entrenching medicine as a lofty humanitarian mission, based on serving people first and uniting the latest achievements of medical science with noble ethical and humanitarian principles.”

He explained that “the foundation has become a beacon of hope for oncology patients and a model to be emulated in integrated institutional work, given the specialized medical services it provides in accordance with the highest international standards.”

Ambassador Al-Alawi praised the significant efforts exerted by the foundation’s administration and its medical, nursing, and technical staff, commending the continued support provided by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, which played a pivotal role in achieving this qualitative accomplishment within Iraq’s health sector.

He also congratulated Al-Sibtayn International University for Medical Sciences on its leading academic role and for hosting the event, affirming that it “represents a fundamental pillar in supporting medical education and strengthening scientific partnerships that contribute to serving the health sector and the community, and help prepare competent medical cadres in line with global standards.”

This achievement by the Warith International Cancer Institution, affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority, comes as the culmination of a sustained institutional journey adopted by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to advance the healthcare landscape and entrench global quality standards in the delivery of medical care. It reflects its firm commitment to serving humanity, strengthening trust in Iraqi health institutions, and underscores its leading role in supporting the health sector in accordance with the highest international standards.
