Imam Al-Mujtaba Hospital Lab Approaches JCI Standards

The laboratory of Imam Al-Mujtaba (A.S.) Hospital for Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation, affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has announced substantial progress in meeting the requirements for Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation.

Dr. Enas Abdul Karim, director of the laboratory, told the official website that “the laboratory of Imam Al-Mujtaba (A.S.) Hospital for Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation, under the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has achieved advanced completion rates in fulfilling the requirements for JCI accreditation,” noting that the laboratory has reached a completion rate exceeding (90%) of the required standards.

She explained that “this achievement is the result of direct support from the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, and the administration of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, which provided all necessary facilities and resources for developing the laboratory, in addition to the efforts of the staff within the Health and Medical Education Authority and the hospital.”

Dr. Abdul Karim added that “this accomplishment reflects Imam Al-Mujtaba (A.S.) Hospital’s commitment to delivering high-quality laboratory services, strengthening patient confidence in diagnostic outcomes, and elevating the level of healthcare in Iraq.”

It is noteworthy that the laboratory of Imam Al-Mujtaba (A.S.) Hospital for Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation had previously announced its attainment of ISO 15189 international accreditation, with a wide scope of more than (140) certified tests, placing it among the leading advanced laboratories in Iraq.
