Al-Warith Center serves more than 525 beneficiaries and exempts 120 from prosthetics costs

The Al-Warith Center for Smart Prosthetics and Medical Rehabilitation, affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has announced statistics outlining the scope of services it provided throughout 2025.

In a statement to the official website, the center’s Deputy Director, Engineer Haidar Mohammed Al-Quraini, said that “the Al-Warith Center for Smart Prosthetics and Medical Rehabilitation received 525 beneficiaries with limb loss during the current year (2025) at its headquarters in the holy city of Karbala.”

He added that “based on the directives of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine reduced or waived fees for 120 beneficiaries for the provision of smart and mechanical prosthetic limbs.” He explained that “the number of newly fitted prosthetic limbs reached approximately 193, while the remaining cases involved maintenance work totaling 332 cases.”

Al-Quraini noted that “the total value of financial reductions amounted to 63,225,000 Iraqi dinars, while the overall amount of full exemptions reached 36,475,000 Iraqi dinars.”

He further stated that “all prosthetic limbs installed at the center are sourced from internationally recognized manufacturers specializing in prosthetics, including British, French, and Japanese origins.”

The Al-Warith Center for Smart Prosthetics and Medical Rehabilitation is regarded as one of the leading specialized centers established by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine as part of its humanitarian and healthcare vision.
