Unique library in Iraq opening soon

Noor al-Imam al-Hussain Institute for the Blind and the Visually Impaired announced the near completion and opening of the country’s first library specialized for the blind.

Institute Director Sami Jawad Kadhum said, “The library will include a variety of books such as the Holy Quran, supplications, jurisprudence as well as history and cultural, all of which are in Braille.”

Within the upcoming days, more books will be added to the library’s collection.  

“The library is the first of its kind in Iraq with more than 250 titles, in addition to an audio library,” added Kadhum.

Noor al-Imam al-Hussain Institute is affiliated with Imam Hussain Holy Shrine.
