With 200 Research Papers from Around the World, Karbala Hosts International Arbaeen Conference

The holy city of Karbala has witnessed the launch of the International Arbaeen Conference, organized by the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine. The conference brought together researchers from various countries, serving as an important annual platform to shed light on the intellectual, spiritual, and social dimensions of the pilgrimage to Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). The event was attended by prominent religious scholars, academics, and media figures.

Professor Haj Abdul Amir Al-Quraishi, Director of the Karbala Center for Studies and Research, stated: “The specialized committees received more than 200 research papers from different countries around the world, of which 148 were accepted after scientific evaluation. The conference opened today with wide participation from researchers and those interested.”

He added: “I extend my gratitude and appreciation to the legitimate custodian of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, to the esteemed departments, and to all parties involved in preparing for this conference. I also commend the tremendous efforts made by the center’s staff over the past days to ensure the success of this significant scientific and cultural event.”

Al-Quraishi further noted: “The spiritual, intellectual, and cultural dimensions embodied in the visitation of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) drive us each year to utilize and develop the tools of scientific research in a way that keeps pace with contemporary changes, expanding horizons of understanding and reflection on the meanings of this eternal pilgrimage.”
