The University of Baltistan, Skardu, hosted the Seventh Annual Hussain Day Conference, beginning with a recitation from the Holy Quran. The opening was followed by a welcoming address from the University’s Vice President, Professor Dr. Naeem Tariq, who greeted the distinguished guests and outlined the conference’s objectives, emphasizing its anticipated scholarly and intellectual contributions.
This year’s conference focused on the theme “The Zainabi Role.” Speakers reflected on the blessed life of Lady Zainab (peace be upon her) and examined the practical dimensions of the Hussaini approach. They highlighted Lady Zainab’s patience, steadfastness, courage, and devotion to truth, describing her as an eternal source of guidance for humanity. The speakers highlighted that inspiration drawn from Hussaini principles and the Zainabi mission is vital for genuine reform and transformative change within educational institutions.
The sessions also addressed contemporary challenges facing the Muslim world. Speakers noted that under oppressive regimes, Muslims today suffer intellectual and practical paralysis, weighed down by grief and widespread injustice. They attributed this decline to abandoning the Hussaini path and relying on rhetoric without meaningful action.
In response, the speakers called for renewed adherence to Hussaini thought, strengthening intellectual and mental resilience, prioritizing the collective good, and fostering unity across the Ummah. They affirmed that true Muslim unity can only be achieved through a sincere bond with the spirit of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), with the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) serving as the strongest link and foundational source for that unity.
Prominent participants included His Eminence Sayyed Radhi Musawi, Sheikh Ahmad Torabi, Allama Ashraf Ali Tabani, Mufti Khalid Mahmud, Khawaja Najm, Dr. Abdul Aziz Ali, and Sayyed Hassan Shah. Each delivered comprehensive and well-researched insights into the life of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and the pivotal Zainabi role, making the conference a profoundly impactful and enlightening event.
