Es-Seystani calls on integrity, judiciary authority to crack down corruptors and restore Iraq’s appropriated funds

The Islamic Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence sayyid Ali El-Husseini Es-Seystani called on the integrity and the judiciary authority to crack down the corruptors and restore Iraq’s funds that were appropriated. In addition, officials concerned ought to take care of the agricultural and industrial sectors in Iraq in order to ensure stability in foods. That was mentioned by the representative of the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority, and the preacher of the Friday's Sermon in Kerbala, His Eminence sayyid Ahmed Es-Safi, in the second part of the Friday's Sermon held at the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine on September 4, 2015.

His Eminence mentioned three issues, saying:

First

There is no use if the state officials sympathize with the Iraqis’ demands by words only, but they have to work seriously to actively contribute to achieving reformation realistically. How prominent a state official’s position or authorities are, he cannot achieve any reforms, alone. Therefore, all the state officials ought to work together to obtain the goals hoped for.

Second

Corruptors used their positions and appropriated Iraq’s funds in twisted ways to achieve their personal goals. Therefore, one of the most important steps to achieve reformation is to crack down the heads of corruptors and hold them into account, in addition to restoring all the appropriated funds, and this process must be adopted by the integrity and the judiciary authority. Many now wonder if the integrity and the judiciary authority are capable of performing this task!

Third

Weak economic planning and without laying out a comprehensive strategy to ensure other financial resources to the country led to falling oil price, and this is another face of corruption. Iraq has many resources other than oil, but those resources are not invested.

His Eminence also said that instead of activating the agricultural and industrial sectors, and therefore job opportunities will be available for the unemployed in these fields, the number of employees is increasingly growing in the governmental departments, where there is no need for that. Therefor, the government must take care and promote agriculture and industry by repairing the fault factories and operating them in order to enhance the country's economy.
