The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced its participation in the activities of the 18th edition of the Erbil International Book Fair. The shrine is featuring a cultural pavilion that showcases a diverse collection of its intellectual, religious, and cultural publications as part of its ongoing efforts to spread knowledge and strengthen its cultural presence in local and international forums.
Speaking to the official website, the head of the Fairs Division, Ali Mameetha, stated that "the participation comes within the strategy of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine aimed at spreading culture and knowledge, as well as introducing its diverse publications covering various religious, intellectual, scientific, and cultural fields."
He added that "the pavilion allows visitors, readers, and researchers to explore the scientific and intellectual works issued by the departments and institutions of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine. It also offers insight into the nature of the knowledge-based projects provided to the public, contributing to reaching a wide audience interested in cultural affairs."
Mameetha explained that "book fairs represent an important opportunity for direct communication with readers, intellectuals, cultural institutions, and participating publishing houses. In addition, they play a key role in encouraging reading, acquiring books, and enhancing societal awareness," noting that "the Fairs Division is keen on participating in cultural events and book fairs both inside and outside Iraq."
He pointed out that "these participations contribute to highlighting the intellectual and cultural output of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and showcasing the contributions of its institutions in enriching the Arabic and Islamic library with diverse publications that meet the interests of readers and researchers."
This participation serves as an extension of the efforts made by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to support the cultural and intellectual movement, enhance the role of the book as a essential pillar in building awareness and establishing intellectual and human values, and expand avenues of communication with institutions and entities involved in publishing and knowledge dissemination.
