Al-Safeer Hospital of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) Surgical Hospital, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, announced its success in performing a complex and specialized surgical operation to remove a massive tumor of the Liposarcoma type, weighing approximately 7.5 kg, for a 43-year-old patient from Dhi Qar Governorate.
The hospital stated in a release obtained by the Official Website that "the patient was suffering from continuous abdominal pain. Detailed radiological examinations revealed the presence of a large tumor extending from the region between the diaphragm and the left kidney, passing through part of the pancreas, down to the pelvic area, which required urgent and specialized surgical intervention."
It explained that "the operation was carried out successfully, as the tumor was completely excised, along with the removal of the left kidney and part of the descending colon, to achieve full control over the condition and secure the best therapeutic outcomes for the patient."
It added that "the surgical intervention demonstrated high integration and intensive coordination among various staff members, with the participation of a specialized anesthesia team, alongside the distinguished efforts provided by the nursing and operating theater staff, who contributed effectively to the success of the surgery."
