The Maintenance Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced statistical indicators for its service operations in supplying and distributing ice, as well as producing and pumping purified drinking water (R.O.) and raw water as part of its service plan for the blessed Arbaeen pilgrimage. The efforts involved pumping and distributing hundreds of millions of liters of water alongside hundreds of thousands of blocks and bags of ice to serve millions of pilgrims arriving in the holy city of Karbala.

The head of the Maintenance Department, Engineer Abdul Hassan Mohammed, stated in an official release obtained by the shrine's official website that "the department's engineering and technical staff executed a comprehensive, round-the-clock service plan to guarantee the sustainability of water and ice supplies and deliver them at the highest levels of readiness and efficiency to the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him)."

He explained that "the engineering plan resulted in pumping 408 million liters of raw water through the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine's networks, in addition to pumping 40.8 million liters of purified drinking water (R.O.) to cover the needs of service corridors and facilities affiliated with the holy shrine."

He further noted that "direct field support operations included distributing 21.42 million liters of raw water using 7 tankers, as well as distributing 9.18 million liters of purified R.O. water via 3 tankers that traversed various service points and routes."

He added that "regarding cooling requirements for procession hubs and pilgrims, 214,000 ice blocks were produced and distributed, along with 202,500 bags of crystal cube ice throughout the days of the Arbaeen pilgrimage."

These figures reflect the scale of the efforts made by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through its Maintenance Department and other divisions, to supply essential services to pilgrims and sustain 24/7 operations to ensure smooth service delivery and the comfort of visitors commemorating the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
