The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through its Machinery Department, continues to implement its service plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage by operating a comprehensive fleet of service and specialized vehicles around the clock. The efforts aim to ensure the smooth flow of pilgrims and provide logistical support to various service sites both within the city of Karbala and along the routes leading to it.
Speaking to the official website, the head of the department, Adel Al-Musawi, stated that "the Machinery Department has mobilized all its capabilities and prepared various types of specialized and service vehicles to meet the needs of pilgrims and support the operations of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine around the clock."
He explained that "the plan included allocating vehicles to transport pilgrims inside the city of Karbala from traffic-blocked areas to the nearest point to the Holy Shrine, in addition to providing electric carts, Coaster buses, and fully equipped ambulances to ensure rapid response and the delivery of top-tier services."
Al-Musawi added that "the department also provided specialized vehicles to transport ice from Iraqi governorates to the city of Karbala, alongside tanker trucks dedicated to transporting water, contributing to the support of Husseini processions and the services rendered to pilgrims."
He further noted that "the plan also encompassed transporting pilgrims free of charge from the city of Karbala to the Zurbatiyah border crossing, as well as receiving arriving pilgrims at the crossing and transporting them into Karbala, ensuring smooth transport movement and easing congestion during the million-strong pilgrimage."
The Machinery Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine plays a pivotal role in executing the service plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage by operating an integrated fleet of service and specialized vehicles to secure pilgrim transportation, support Husseini processions, deliver water and ice, and supply ambulances alongside auxiliary vehicles, ultimately ensuring seamless movement and the highest level of service for the millions of incoming pilgrims to Karbala.
