The Youth Social Development and Rehabilitation Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through the Al-Warith Scouts Association Division, has begun implementing its service plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussain (PBUH). The plan includes the First Aid Commission and the Hussaini Pilgrim Guide Program, with the aim of providing healthcare and guidance services to pilgrims.
Speaking to the official website, the Head of the Department, Mohammed Al-Nasrawi, said, "The Youth Social Development and Rehabilitation Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through the Al-Warith Scouts Association Division, has deployed (9) first aid stations inside the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, including (3) main stations staffed by specialized medical personnel, in addition to supporting stations distributed around the shrine. These stations are operated by trained and qualified paramedics capable of handling various medical and emergency cases around the clock (24 hours), with the participation of more than (1,000) volunteers, scouts, paramedics, and a number of department staff."
He explained that "the plan also includes the deployment of (16) external first aid stations around the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain under a carefully designed coverage plan that extends across the Old City and the main routes witnessing large numbers of pilgrims, ensuring rapid emergency response and the provision of essential first aid services."
He added that "the plan relies on a team of highly trained young volunteers and paramedics who have completed specialized training and qualification programs, enabling them to respond to various medical situations with efficiency and professionalism."
He continued that "the Hussaini Pilgrim Guide Program has also deployed (11) guidance stations around the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, as well as at major intersections and main streets, using updated electronic maps containing information on hotels, Hussainiyas, and service locations to help pilgrims navigate and reach their destinations."
He noted that "the program includes translators and volunteers from Karbala Province, whose extensive knowledge of the city's streets, routes, and key locations enables them to provide comprehensive guidance services to pilgrims of different nationalities around the clock throughout the Arbaeen pilgrimage."
These efforts reflect the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine's commitment to providing the highest level of healthcare and guidance services to the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (PBUH) and contributing to the successful organization of the pilgrimage.
